Muangboran The Ancient City at Bangkok: Preserving Siamese True Heritage
The Ancient City was built to serve as a tool to encourage people to learn about the history of Thailand. The place aims to make national traditions and culture which are the foundation of Siamese civilization known to the world.
The founder's intent: Since ancient times, Thai culture has constantly grown prosperous. It would have been meaningful for our past and present if the cultural splendor, through our knowledge and wisdom, could last forever.

If you are more into shopping, you should probably drop by their malls Siam Center, Siam Paragon and Centralworld which are just right beside each other.
Visit art museums at Siam Discovery and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
You must visit Khao San Road for exotic and authentic street food!
*P.S: IN MY CASE there is a language barrier; it is better to visit Thailand with a Thai-speaking friend*

If you only have a few hours to spend in Malaysia, ride an express train going to KL Sentral Station to tour around the city to see the Petronas Tower and stroll around shopping malls nearby like NU Sentral and Suria KLCC.
